Common questions about our screw compressors
What's the difference between fixed-speed and PM VSD?
Fixed-speed compressors run at constant RPM and use a load/unload valve or modulation to match air demand — simple and durable, but wasteful under fluctuating load. PM VSD (permanent-magnet variable-speed drive) matches motor speed exactly to the air demand curve, saving up to 35 % energy and reducing inrush current at start.
Which series is suitable for high ambient temperature (≥ 45 °C)?
All AirPeak screw compressors are tropicalised by default: IP54 enclosures, oversized oil coolers and after-coolers, and condensers rated for 50 °C ambient. For plants running 24/7 above 45 °C, request our tropical build spec — we increase cooler capacity by 20 % at no extra cost for orders above 10 units.
Do you offer oil-free variants?
Yes — three oil-free options: the APW water-injected screw for 7–10 bar general oil-free air, and the APO oil-free screw blower for wastewater aeration. Both are ISO 8573-1 Class-0 certified. For high-pressure oil-free, we can pair the water-injected unit with a third-party nitrogen generator.
What voltages do you support for overseas buyers?
Standard three-phase 380 V / 50 Hz and 415 V / 50 Hz for Southeast Asia; 440 V / 60 Hz for the Middle East; 480 V / 60 Hz for the Americas. We also customise single-phase 220 V / 50 Hz for sub-7.5 kW piston units. All motors are dual-voltage wound or rewirable on site.
